Good Grief!!!

I decided to change my background...I was looking for something springy. I love this one, although I wish I could change it to Happy Spring, but I'm not that smart!!! In fact , I lost some of the widgets and spent way too much time adding them back . I think I still have a missing one, maybe I will remember what it was!! Next time I'll know accept all widgets!!!

Can A Quilter have TOO Many Panels????

Day 3 of stomach least I feel that I can move about some and not feel too queasy!!! I thought about the Christmas Quiltalong that Shakerwood Quilts ( Cathi) and Quilt Times ( Sue)  will be starting in February. Check out the pattern they are offering. I hope to make it,plus make up a panel also.  I got out the box labeled Christmas panels...and unfortunately I know 1 or 2 more are stored elsewhere!! Some of these are probably vintage by now....the first row middle , was a door panel that I used on my classroom door at least 25 years ago!!! I have fabric to go with most of which will I make for me, my favorite niece, my sister, etc.....With more than 13, I should find one I want to get made!!!

I am An Addict!!

I went to JoAnn's last Friday ( about 50 miles from where I live). I was only going to get a book on free motion quilting, so I can practice.  I got two books PLUS all this. The black fat quarters are for block for the Winter Wonderland wallhanging that I am going to hand embroider. The rest is for my collection ( stash). I wish I could get started sewing BUT my husband and I are both fighting a stomach virus. This is day 2 for both of us.

top finished

I finished the top I had started earlier this month. It's queen size. The colors are really prettier than the picture.  I had started with  red/green sashing ( that I posted about on Jan. 11) and  decided I didn't like it...I was halfway!!  I selected the yellow /purple and liked it better. I hope to order a midarm quilting machine in February ( after checking them out at the Mid Atlantic Quilt fest in Hampton Va) and plan to quilt it myself.

I feel a mug rug coming on. I was looking in my stash and saw the fabric with the mugs ( I bought it last year for ???) and pulled the other fabrics out. I think I like it!! I don't think it will scream Valentine's too loudly.

Have you ever started over????

The green and red sashing is what I started with...I thought the green was the same color as in the leaves. It looked perfect in the store. I got the top half made and just hated looking at it. Soooo, I took the fabric and went to the LQS and found the purple and yellow. ( The yellow is tone on tone and not a solid.)  It really is purple although in the photo it doesn't look it. It matches the purple flowers now I am at the point I was before changing my mind. Have you ever had to start over???

Sanford NC quilt and fiber show

This is Cathi from Shakerwood Quilts ( She had beautiful wools and patterns for sell. She hand dyes wool!! Check out her blog.
I loved this was so full of items I love

More patterns and fabrics

I loved this Cotton Boll quilt...I didn't buy the pattern as I am not into applique!!!

I bought the pattern for the quilt with the houses on it... Who knows when it will get made???? I also bought several other patterns here. Will post them later.

More fabric and patterns purchased.!!!

The show is today and tomorrow in Sanford NC at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center...very easy to find. There were 70 vendors there....everything from Featherweights, quilting machines, patterns , fabric, and rulers galore!!! I test drove a Homesteader midarm. It was great. I want to check them out...if anyone has one I would love to hear how you like it. My husband drove me ( it's about an hour and a half from our house) and he knows how I follow directions. I think he enjoyed it..he talked to several vendors and encouraged me to buy fabric and patterns ( as if I need encouragement!!! LOL!!!)
