At last...I have gotten time to make two more of the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt blocks. Cut Glass Dishes has lots of triangles!!  I wonder why the book didn't have some instructions to aid in constructing the blocks...like use half square triangles, etc.

This is the patchwork jacket I have been working on since last Wednesday's Sew In at a friend's house. She showed us how to cut the sweatshirt and the steps to get started. I have a little more hand sewing of binding , make button loops, sew on the buttons and hem the sleeves. You cannot see the fancy stitches and quilt block motifs I added with my embroidery machine, but the metallic thread adds a shine in the light. I already bought fabric to start another one!!

Afternoon outing

I attended my nephew's wedding at the beach (Fort Fisher...Kure Beach N.C.) this afternoon. The weather was perfect. Everything went smoothly. Several other weddings were going on nearby. We ate some wonderful seafood while there.

While at Driving Miss Stacey's blog...I saw these Pumpkin Swirl Bars from MaththaStewart.com. They were the Cookie of the Day.  I made a batch because in a few weeks I will have the Circle meeting here. I like a fall like cookie for refreshments. These are tasty! Martha's show up prettier than mine.

Sew Day!!!

Off to a friend's house to have a Sew In!!! Four of us will be there....one is going to teach us to make a patchwork jacket from a sweatshirt. She has made several and hers are all beautiful!! I have my batiks washed and ready to go. It's great getting ideas from others.

Christmas Quiltalong completed!!

I finished my Christmas Quiltalong top...now I just have to quilt it!!! It's a wallhanging, BUT it's BIG!!! I am thinking of adding a couple of borders and turning it into a throw. It's big enough to cover all of me, except my feet. I have to check out my LQS and see if it has any of the fabric. I can order it (if I locate it on the web). The black border strip really made it pop!
